Ogoh affirms quality assurance at TKPPI accreditation exercise
The Director, Polytechnic Programmes, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Ngbede Ogoh, has assured that the board will not compromise on quality in the accreditation process.
Ogoh gave the assurance at TimeOn Kairos Polytechnic and Professional Institute, where he led his team for accreditation of National Diploma (ND) courses in Computer Engineering, Electrical Electronics and Accountancy for the institution.
He said: “There is neither failure nor pass in accreditation. We were here sometime in the past for accreditation of courses, but due to certain deficiencies, we had to defer the full accreditation exercise.
“Quality assurance is very important because the world has become a global village and we constantly aim at producing graduates that would be globally competitive. Polytechnic graduates should be able to meet the demand of the market in any part of the world, and most importantly, they should be able to hit the ground running.
The Proprietor, TimeOn Kairos Polytechnic and Professional Institute, Dr. Titus Oyeyemi said the team was in the school in 2018, to accredit four National Diploma courses, and also came last year and gave interim approval for three out of the four courses. He disclosed that the board had so far accredited 17 courses for the institution.
