Take delight in life-long learning, educationist charges graduands

With the secondary leg of their educational pursuit already accomplished, an educationist and Director of Education, Trinity International College, Ofada, Ogun State, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aderinoye, has urged the Class of 2015 of the institution to take delight in continuous learning, dream big and develop a great sense of curiosity.

She spoke at the 15th valedictory/graduation ceremony of the school, where a total of 118 students bade farewell to the school having completed their sojourn.

“Take the time to dream big as big dreams help you to do great things. Continue to learn, be curious, and be open to others whose interests differ from yours. Read and learn something new everyday. Take responsibility for your successes and failure. Be resilient, learn from your mistakes and celebrate your achievements,” she stated.

Aderinoye charged the new graduands to emulate certain habits of successful people, which she said could serve as beacons as they navigate the future.

“Successful people are very similar. It doesn’t matter what industry they work or what passion they are pursuing,” she said adding that in doing this, it was imperative for them to challenge their brain, take part in cardio exercises, eat healthy, live in the now and commit to personal growth.

Aderinoye charged them to always be grateful and express their gratitude particularly to their parents, teachers, fellow students and all those who have helped bring them to this threshold of life.

Chairman of the Board of TRICOL, Mr. Samuel Olatunji commended the Class of 2015 for enduring the journey noting that not all that started a journey usually made it to the end.

While calling on the departing students to see themselves as privileged ones, hence the need to be more determined to justify the huge investment made by their parents and guardians, he warned them to be cautious of their newfound freedoms as they proceed to tertiary institutions.

He further admonished them to be wary of friends and roommates whop could lead them astray, stressing that the type of friends made could either make or mar them for life.

He praised the vision and determination of the founders of the college, who he said have partnered with parents to build a first-class educational institution with a reputation for academic excellence and strong Christian values.

Certificates and awards were presented to deserving students in academics, sports, outstanding service and character at the event. The school also celebrated the best 10 students in the 2015 UTME, who carded marks ranging from 262 to 303.
The valedictorian, Lydia Anietie-Nte- Abasi Okon, who entered the school in 2009 is a member of the Achiever’s Club, and consistently maintained an outstanding academic performance record.
