Rejigging National Youth Council for better output

The Commonwealth Peace Ambassador, Popoola Isiaka Olamilekan, has reinforced the need to reposition the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in order for it to achieve aims and objectives of its founding fathers.

Olamilekan made the call while addressing some Nigerian youths as guest speaker at a programme recently held by members of Ahmadiyya Youth Organisation, Majlis Khudammul (MKAN), Oyo (District), at Abiodun Atiba Memorial Institute, Oyo, Oyo State.

In his paper titled: Significant Roles of NYCN in Sustaining Democracy in Nigeria, Hon. Popoola analysed the current challenges which have been weighing Nigerian Youths down in order to effectively contribute their quotas to the socio-political development of Nigeria. He also urged Nigerian Youths to participate effectively and positively in the forthcoming general election.

Presently, Ahmadiyya Youth organisation has embarked on political education programmes for its members and the Muslim community in general on the need to collect the permanent voters cards and vote wisely in the March and April elections.

It also joined other youth groups in Lagos state to organise a gubernatorial debates for governorship candidate for the Lagos House last month.
