THE governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the April 11 election in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has congratulated president-elect, General Buhari. In a statement posted on his Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, Agbaje said President Goodluck Jonathan has shown leadership by putting the interest of the country first.

“His commitment to a credible, free and fair election and ensuring a violence-free post-election is commendable,” Agbaje noted.

“Today, whether you are PDP, APC, KOWA, APGA or ACPN – whatever your political affiliation – we can all hold our heads high and be proud of our country and budding democracy, which is definitely here to stay. “As for the upcoming gubernatorial elections in Lagos, our work doesn’t end here.

The people’s clamour for change that has swept the nation continues. Next week Saturday, it will be our turn. This will not come easy by any stretch of the imagination. “Although I’ve always considered ourselves as the underdogs in this race, we know that we have a pretty good chance if only we all put our hands on deck to ensure we see this through.
