Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria (NAIP) has finally acquired its first permanent national secretariat after 47 years of existence.
The new office, located in Ajao Estate, Lagos, was officially commissioned on Tuesday by the President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Tanko Ayuba.
Speaking during the ceremony, Tanko described the development as a major milestone in the history of NAIP and a clear sign of progress.
“I congratulate industrial pharmacists for this achievement,” he said. “There is a clear difference between being a tenant and owning your own space. I hope this marks the beginning of greater things for NAIP.”
NAIP National Chairman, Ken Onuogbu, said the acquisition marked a new phase for the association.
“After 47 long and impactful years, NAIP, has acquired its first permanent property.
“This structure is not just a building, it is a legacy,” he said. “It represents the dedication of past and present leaders who believed in the vision of this association.”
Onuogbu said the building would serve as a hub for training, innovation, and collaboration within the pharmaceutical sector. He also disclosed that it would house a research library and showroom for pharmaceutical technologies.
“With this new facility, NAIP is ready to play a stronger role in pharmaceutical regulation, local production, and policy advocacy,” he added.
Chairman of the NAIP House Committee, Ikobi Eugene, also praised the leadership of the current administration, saying the success of the project came after several failed attempts.
According to him, a previous committee had stalled for months, but things changed after the current chairman restructured the team and gave them a one-week deadline to produce results.
“The chairman personally pursued funding and reached out to his contacts to make this dream a reality,” Ikobi said.
