The Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, Taraba State, Dr. Aminu Hassan Jauro, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of council workers.
Represented by his vice, Peter Nathaniel Tani, at a safety awareness road walk organized by the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), the chairman pledged that the council would do everything humanly possible to protect its workforce.
The event, themed “Revolutionizing Health and Safety: The Role of AI and Digitalization at Work,” was held to mark the 2025 World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
The council chairman expressed strong support for any initiative aimed at promoting development and safeguarding the lives of his people, emphasizing ongoing collaboration with the NSITF.
In his remarks, Engineer Joseph Terence, Head of Health and Safety at NSITF, urged workers to remain vigilant and prioritize safety while on duty.
He commended the Jalingo council for fully enrolling its workers in the NSITF scheme, describing it as a crucial step toward securing workers’ welfare.
Terence called on other council chairmen across the state to emulate Jalingo’s example by partnering with the NSITF.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Bulus Bala Hwadi, the NSITF Branch Manager in Jalingo, reiterated the Fund’s commitment to ensuring the safety of workers throughout Taraba State.
He stressed the importance of insuring workers’ lives and business premises, noting that the NSITF remains a reliable partner in promoting workplace safety.
