Ighodalo pledges most educative SBL conference

THE Chair, Nigeria Bar Association Section on Business Law (SBL), Mr. Asue Ighodalo has pledged that this year’s SBL conference would be most rewarding and educative for participants.

THE Chair, Nigeria Bar Association Section on Business Law (SBL), Mr. Asue Ighodalo has pledged that this year’s SBL conference would be most rewarding and educative for participants.

He said the organising committee has put mechanism in place to ensure a hitch free programme and sued for the cooperation of all in order to make the conference a success. According to him, the event would examine policies and regulations that shape the economic growth of the country.

The event which is the 9th edition is slated for June 7 to 9, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. Jointly addressing newsmen in Lagos on Friday, the Lead Partner, Detail Commercial Solicitors and Chairman conference Planning Committee, (CPC), Mr. Ayuli  Jemide said that the council of the section of business law aimed to use the conference as a forum for regulators, lawyers and business executives to dialogue on policies and regulations that shape the economic growth.

Jemide stated that it is the better time to contribute to nation building as the conference coincides with election year and period in Nigeria history where citizens have higher expectations from elected and appointed government officials.

The conference is themed: “Regulators as Catalyst for Economic Growth” with key sessions designed to raise major talking point that effect business environment and kick start an enduring mechanism for continuous engagement between the section on business law and the major regulators that shape the business environment.

“The first sesson on 8th of June 2015 is tagged ‘Improving Nigeria’s Ease of Doing Business’. This session will have the CEO of the Ghana Investiment Promotion Centre, Mawuena Trebarh and the another session on 9th of June is the premium session where John Hawksworth, the Chief Economist of PWC will speak on “Long Term Global Economic Trends and Implications for Nigeria”.

This session is based on PWC’s World 2050 report and will be chaired by Elisabeth Proust, the CEO of Total E&P Nigeria and will have notable discussants, including Mr Segun Agbaje, CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Dr Doyin Salami, distinguish economist and senior lecturer at the Lagos Business School”, he explained.
