In a statement by the World Economic Forum, the organisation stated that “Davos Agenda is a pioneering mobilization of global leaders to rebuild trust to shape the principles, policies and partnerships needed in 2021.

The virtual meeting will build momentum ahead of the Special Annual Meeting in the spring. The Davos Agenda will feature a full week of global programming from 25-29 January 2021; with the active participation of Heads of States, CEOs, civil society leaders, global media and youth leaders from Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North America and Latin America.”

The founder and Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab; stated that “2021 is a crucial year to rebuild trust. The world is at a crossroads. The Coronavirus pandemic has reversed important gains in the global fight against unemployment, climate change and poverty. Leaders must come together for decisive and inclusive action.”

In a world that has experienced unimaginable hardship since the outbreak of the global pandemic, reversing gains in the fight against unemployment, climate change and poverty, World Economic Forum says that “Rebuilding trust and increasing global cooperation are crucial to implement the bold and innovative solutions needed to drive a robust recovery.”

Global leaders would shape the Davos Agenda, therefore; Heads of States and Governments would address the state of the world in 2021 to participants in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Latin America.
Global leaders in all spheres of governance (public and corporate) will give special addresses on the state of the world, as well as engaging in dialogue with business leaders.

Also, industry leaders and public figures would discuss the advancement and acceleration of public-private collaboration on critical issues such as climate change, job creation and most importantly COVID-19 amongst other salient issues. The World Economic Forum’s core communities, including its International Business Council, will share their insight and recommendations from global, regional and industry initiatives in the impact sessions of the Davos Agenda in January 2021.

Since building a better future for work, accelerating stakeholder capitalism, harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be important topics on the Davos Agenda, the five programme themes would be; designing cohesive, sustainable, resilient economic systems (25 January); driving responsible industry transformation and growth (26 January); enhancing stewardship of our global commons (27 January), harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (28 January); advancing global and regional cooperation (29 January).

The high-level agenda-setting dialogues that characterize the Forum’s January meeting will take place throughout the week and will be virtual and live-streamed. This would provide more opportunities and accessible for the wider public to engage. The World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda sessions would take place across the various time zones of Beijing (China), Geneva (Switzerland), New York and San Francisco (USA) and Tokyo (Japan). This is to allow and ensure global participation during the Davos Agenda.
