
Senatorial Representative of Lagos West Senatorial District, Oluranti Adebule, and former Managing Director, Transcorp Hotels, Dupe Olusola and 16 others were recently recognised in TEXEM UK Exceptional Women List.

These women who are transforming a new era in leadership are recognised for their contributions to proving invaluable in navigating today’s complex challenges, questioning the status quo and driving long-term sustainable development.
The 18 women who are alumnae of its TEXEM training programme, were awarded across five different categories, citing their achievements as a beacon of inspiration, and proof of women’s ability to overcome professional and personal challenges and making significant difference in society.
In the ‘Trailblazers of Good Governance and Strategic Leadership’ category, Olusola was recognised alongside Chief Sustainability Officer, Greater Washington Capital, Adenike Brown Awosan; Executive Director, the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF), Ann Iyonu; and Director of Legal Services, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Hajara Bolanle Oniyangi.
MD of Total Health Trust, Tonye Ukpong, was honoured as a Catalyst of Innovation and Sustainable Development, for her work revolutionising the healthcare industry, leveraging on decades of leadership experience in banking and insurance to drive a sector-wide transformation.
TEXEM also highlighted the contributions of women who have continued to set the standard in public administration and governance in the ‘Exemplifying Strategic Governance in Public Service’ category. Adebule was honoured in the category along with Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Lagos State, Sunkanmi Oyegbola; Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training, Olubusola Abidakun; Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Government, Mobolaji Daba; and Deputy Governor, Akwa Ibom State, Senator (Dr) Akon Eyakenyi.
The business world has continued to evolve in recent years, with more women taking on key leadership roles, driving profitability, operational efficiency, and corporate innovation. TEXEM highlighted the tremendous work of women challenging the narrative and setting new strides in business with the ‘Redefining Business and Financial Leadership’ category.
MD/CEO, Royal Exchange General Insurance, Ebele Nwachukwu; Executive Director of Zenith Pensions, Olayinka Ajayi; Executive Director, Fidelity Bank, Pamela Shodipo; and MD/CEO, ENL Consortium, Bolanle Onogorowa were all spotlighted in this category for setting benchmarks of excellence in finance, inspiring the next generation of business leaders.

In the ‘Driving Media, Marketing, and Thought Leadership’ category, TEXEM recognised the contributions of women who are reshaping the media and marketing landscape, using their platforms to drive thought leadership and impactful storytelling. Former CEO, Arise News, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu; Executive Director, BusinessDay, Ijeoma Ude; Chairman, Leadership Newspaper Nigeria Limited Zainab Nda-Isaiah; and Group Executive Director, Corporate Services Directorate, Media Trust Group, Dr. Hadiza I. Bala, were all recognised for being prominent voices in Nigeria’s media sector, driving change and promoting credibility in the nation’s evolving media landscape.
