Fintiri urges peace, selflessness in Easter message

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has called on residents to embrace the spirit of peace, unity, and selflessness as Christians commemorate the Easter season.

In a goodwill message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri emphasized the significance of Easter as a time for reflection, sacrifice, and compassion, urging citizens to extend love and support to the less privileged in society.

“This is a special time, especially for Christians, when they remember the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we enter into the Easter season, let’s once again remember that it is a season for sacrificing ourselves, the same season that Jesus was sacrificed for the sake of mankind and peace,” Governor Fintiri stated.

He noted that Christ’s ultimate sacrifice was a gesture of healing, not destruction, and encouraged residents to emulate the selflessness Jesus Christ demonstrated by caring for the vulnerable.

“Let us deliberately make it our responsibility to spread the love by extending a helping hand to the needy this Easter season, in line with the excessive love that Jesus Christ exhibited by dying for mankind at the cross,” he added.

Governor Fintiri further urged the people of Adamawa to uphold unity and work collectively for lasting peace in the State.

“I send you this message of goodwill and best wishes, praying that we will continue with the unity and oneness that binds us together so that we will continue building our State to become a respected State that we are proud of, a place where people forgive each other and most importantly, a State that is at peace with itself,” he said.

He wished all residents a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, expressing hope for a renewed sense of national unity and harmony.
