State governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) met on Wednesday night with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, over the increasing level of insecurity across the country.

The meeting, which took place behind closed doors, was attended, among others, by governors of Borno, Plateau, and Benue States, which had witnessed heightened insecurity in the last few weeks.

Though the agenda was not made available to journalists, it was learnt that the CDS briefed the state chief executives on the efforts of security agencies to contain the attacks.

A communiqué is expected at the end of the meeting.
