The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will not hesitate in sacking Super Eagles’ coach, Stephen Keshi, if he is found guilty of applying for the vacant Cote d’Ivoire job, an official of the federation has revealed.

Keshi-9The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will not hesitate in sacking Super Eagles’ coach, Stephen Keshi, if he is found guilty of applying for the vacant Cote d’Ivoire job, an official of the federation has revealed.

Keshi, who appeared before a disciplinary hearing in Abuja Tuesday, has denied ever applying for the Cote d’Ivoire post, but the NFF has since launched a probe that may take them to Abidjan to uncover the truth of the matter.

NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, has already said Keshi would be “suicidal” to apply for another post when the football federation was up to date with the payment of his salaries.

Speaking on the issue yesterday, a top official of the n federation, Iyke Igbokwe, told Africanfootball.com, that the NFF disciplinary committee would recommend the dismissal of coach Stephen Keshi if it were proven he applied to handle African champions, Cote d’Ivoire.

Disciplinary committee vice-president, Igbokwe said: “If it were proven that he indeed applied to coach Cote d’Ivoire when he is still coaching the Super Eagles, then that is a breach of trust.

“We will then recommend (to the executive committee) that he be relieved of his job so that he could go and coach Cote d’Ivoire.”

Keshi has a two-year contract after his first three-year stint in charge of the Super Eagles during which time he guided the team to the knockout rounds of the 2014 World Cup and a third Africa Cup of Nations victory.

Did his contract explicitly state that he cannot apply for another job while employed by the NFF?

Do not mind those politicians running our football

Good question, if his contract does not carry a breach of contract clause that includes applying for another job while an employee of NFF then the matter needs to be
dropped and Keshi allowed to concentrate on the Eagles or go to another job as his fundamental human right dictates. NFF can be sued for harassment, witchunting and victimisation of Stephen Keshi. I rest my case.

Is it wrong to look for a better job? If the contract does not say he could not look for another job while coaching the super eagles, the NFF should look for something else to sack him

Keshi is not a man of character, he has been dismissed from his job before he was forced on Nigerians by former President Jonathan. he understands he is standing on one wobble leg, so decided to apply for a new job with the Ivorian’s, not because he felt he had a realistic chance of becoming their coach, but rather he wanted to bluff and make himself look attractive and relevant, but his action has backfired on him. It is time to get rid of Stephen Keshi, Eagles coach is not permanently written with his name. NIGERIAN FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD HATES STEPHEN KESHI
