POLITICAL aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday sent a protest letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged disparity in the on-going investigation into cases of corrupt practices against some political appointees under the last administration.

The former political aides of the former President, under the aegis of the Voice of the South-South, declared that though they supported the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari with the belief that it would be done with justice and equity, adding that the exclusion of the former presidents who are northerners and other APC stalwarts showed lopsidedness, selective justice and bias.

A statement issued yesterday at the end of an emergency meeting presided over by the state Chairman, Alex Dumbo and Chairman of the group’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Mr. Mike Ogiasa, stated that the cases of former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke and the late D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha have shown the bias of President Muhammadu Buhari in handling anti-corruption matters.

According to the group: ”First, we observed that immediately the past Minister of Petroleum Resources was purportedly arrested in London, the Department for Security Service (DSS) promptly invaded her home in Nigeria. Apart from Mrs. Alison-Madueke, we are yet to see or hear the arrest of any of the rest 42 ministers who served in the immediate past administration.

“The second incident is the late Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha, who the APC-led Federal Government recently claimed the British Government has requested for his extradition to the United Kingdom (UK) in connection with a case for which he had been tried, convicted, served and later granted ‘presidential pardon’ in Nigeria. While we express strong rebuttal of the
“Extradition Notice” by the British High Commission in Nigeria after the death of the Governor-General, we wonder from which office, other than the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the purported extradition notice emanated from.

“What is the reaction of the APC-led Federal Government to this matter, now that the British High Commission in Nigeria has strongly refuted the claim? This approach by President Buhari, therefore, does not seem to depart from corruption itself because we believe that corruption cannot fight against corruption if our national life must improve. It is therefore our sincere advice that President Buhari should change his present style in the fight against corruption or stop the so-called fight against menace and come with feasible policies and programmes that will enhance the development of our dear country.

“President Buhari’s sincerity of purpose in the anti-corruption fight would be applauded if the President takes adequate positive steps to address the public outcry of corruption against some top allies who claimed they funded the All Progressives Congress (APC) to victory in the 2015 presidential election. We equally believe that President Buhari has what it takes to withstand the temptations of ethnic, religious, partisan and selfish consideration, which are capable of derailing the anti-corruption crusade if not resisted.”

On the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa State, the group urged President Buhari to resist the temptation of jumping into the arena and provide a level-playing field for all governorship candidates and political parties

Clowns! They should simply keep quiet and answer for their stewardship while it was their turn to chop.

Corruption should be dealt with at all levels, at least, in this present administration. As it is, I am still waiting for the probe against the present Senate President–Bukola Saraki. If nothing comes out of it…, then IT IS FOR SURE THAT THERE ARE RELIGIOUS AND CERTAIN OTHER BIAS.

The usual Nigerian GRAMMAR won’t save you this time because Nigerians are no longer willing to listen to it. It is not President Buhari that is driving this anti-corruption crusade alone but the whole of Nigerian spirit. And they want to move the nation forward, so if you are still dancing to the old tune then you are behind time. The progress of Nigeria has been retarded because of people like you and those you are shamelessly defending. These are people that stole Trillions of Dollars out of the Country and you have the guts to publicly defend them. We need this money to build trains, roads, metro, water, electricity like we have in European countries. These bastards stole the money and hid them in Europe. The interest this money yield for the Europeans are to the tune of hundreds of billions every year and they use it to develop their own country.

The fear JAIL is the key that unlock the mind of the corrupt. These people are so afraid of being hounded by their own crime. They seems to forget the era of “stealing is not corruption” is over. Now they are afraid of their corruption because their past stealing will now be made into corruption.

we hope to see many of the rotten politicians that loot the treasury taken to court. PMB should expand the scope of EFCC, remove the corrupt officials and reappoint Ribadu as the chairman. We seem to be copying the developed countries wrongly. In the Uk once a government official is suspected or accused of wrong doing, he immediately resigns his appointment without being prodded. In Nigeria monomaniac arguments that the person has not been tried in the court of law reigns supreme. Ironically the poor masses are languishing in prison without trial when they have not been proved guilty. Is Nigerian laws only applicable to the poor masses? President Buhari should not disappoint those of us that voted him into power by allowing those accused to hold ministerial positions afterall he did not ask anybody to loot the treasury to sponsor his election. .

Again.., Why is Bukola Saraki still holding onto his position as Senate President? I am a concerned Nigerian… President Buhari should prove his lack of bias!!! The entire world is watching. We can’t continue this way. One visit to the States does not convince anyone that we have changed. Corruption must be trashed at all level, no matter your religion, social status or tribe. My question goes to President Buhari, ” Are you really judging fairly?”. You shall be judged at the end of your tenure…, we Nigerians at Diaspora are watching. We can also decide to go to the International court.

It seems now that the more classy Nigerian Guarian Newspaper run the risk of importing most of the useless and feckless idi0ts who floorded and collapsed the vile Punch Newspapers with their vermin and hate comments. Now that the Punch has thankfully collapsed, I hope these same idi0ts do not cross over over to the Guardian with their hatefull and fraudulent rofiles. Already I can see them posting abusive comments against the South-south Group for raising very legitimate concerns about buhari’s clueless and vindictive administration.

Who are these people, and where are they from for heaven sake? What other policies are these people calling for: and why can’t they provide suggestions–publicly, policies that they think can help the current government to gather those corrupt criminals together, to get tried and jailed. It is not enough to say somethings is not working, without a reasonable suggestion at least. For your information, I think the current President is not doing badly by making examples out of these criminals. Get few convicted with long jail time, and watch how it’ll be easy to get others–because those convicted will probably tell on the co-conspirators. Or at least create some fear in the system. It will take for ever trying to get all those involve, but getting and making example out of few will not take too much resources. So, I urge all that we assist the government, regardless of the political orientation.

These people are concerned Nigerians who are seeing a biased leadership against those from the South South. People from the South South are not the most corrupt in Nigeria. It is like those from the North are complete saints they are never held accountable. If those from the South South are so corrupt then please let’s split the country in two so those from South South can govern their corrupt selves!!!!
