For film lovers, going to the cinemas is an exciting way to spend time with loved ones. Here are some spectacular films to watch out for this weekend:

The Meg

Produced by Warner Bros, this film has earned over $300 million [N108.15 billion] globally in just two weeks of its opening. It has quickly joined the list of big earners like The Avengers: Infinity War and Oceans 8.

The action film stars Jason Statham, Ruby Rose and Li Bingbing. This is an adrenalin-filled film about a deadly shark that attacks a submersible, leaving it damaged and unable to move, with its crew trapped at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. This gives a rescue diver very little time to save the crew from the threat of the monstrous shark known as the Megalodon.

The Spy Who Dumped Me

It is an action comedy starring Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon and Justin Theroux. It centres around two friends who have a somewhat funny adventure while being chased through Europe by assassins. They are put in harm’s way through an ex-boyfriend who is a CIA agent. There are scenes filled with funny moments and excitement, which makes watching the film worthwhile.

Crazy Rich Asians

This film is an American romantic comedy-drama produced in the US but featuring mainly Asian cast. The film is narrated from different perspectives but is centred around Rachel, a young middle-class girl who is invited by her boyfriend Nicholas to visit Asia and meet his wealthy parents. From his wealthy yet down to earth upbringing, he expects his parents to accept her. Surprisingly, to him, they do not.

You can check out for all these films at all Filmhouse Cinemas nationwide.
