Celebrating King Sunny Ade At 72

King Sunny Ade was born Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye to a Nigerian royal family in Osogbo.He is a is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in the West African musical style jùjú. He has been called one of the most influential musicians of all time.

He is the first African to be nominated for a Grammy award for his work.

He received an award for his contribution in world music International Reggae and World Music Awards held at the Apollo theatre in Harlem, New York.
