“I don’t have a personal relationship with them [Wizkid and Burna Boy]. I did at some point in time… The conversation is bigger than the ‘Big 3’ right now; there’s Rema, there’s Ayra Starr and other artists. Right now, I think the three of us understand that it is bigger than us,” he said.
Davido, who is one of the most influential Nigerian musicians globally, added that the Afrobeats scene is now filled with younger artistes making waves internationally.
He also addressed rumours about his fallout with fellow singer, Tiwa Savage, saying there’s no bad blood between them.
“Tiwa Savage is my sister for life, I love her and her child, we are family. Our fight is just like a brother and sister’s fight. I will never allow anything to happen to her.”
Davido, recently headlined shows in the United States and Europe and has been vocal about building stronger unity among African artistes.
