Where’s home?

Home for me is Lagos. I stay at one of the high-rise serviced apartments on Victoria Island.  Been here since 2011.

What projects are you working on?

There’s always something brewing. I just returned from Cyprus where I co-hosted a gala night. A movie I featured in premiered last month and is still in the cinema, it’s called Whose Meal Ticket? This month, I start filming the new season of God’s Children Got Talent GCGT, as one of the hosts.

What advice would you give to a tourist?

I’d say explore! Do not wait for anyone to take you places. Use the guides. The maps, research the must go-to-places on the Internet.  Stay in areas with activities so you can always stroll around. Be open to meeting people because it makes the experience worth it. Also do not be afraid to try new food, new music, new fashion and new lifestyles, just don’t limit yourself to things you are used to.

Why are you here?

I have friends in Toronto and they had been hounding me to come. Lol! So I had some free days and I needed the vacation! So, I got me a ticket and boarded the first affordable flight I could get to Canada. I wanted to explore a new country and just feel different.

What do you like about Toronto?

I love the calmness! But yet they know how to party when it’s time to party!! Toronto is CLEAN, organised, and the weather here is fresh! (Cold most times but fresh!) The people here are so warm and receptive! My goodness! I don’t think I’ve ever received so many smiles from people who do not know me! There’s little or no racial tension and the nightlife is decent but fun! There’s a bit of everything for everyone there! Love it! And would definitely visit more, it’s officially one of my top favourite places.

What do you dislike about Toronto?

Probably that it can get too quiet sometimes but overall, I love it!

Best restaurant?

I do not remember at all. But it’s an Italian restaurant close to Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga. They have the best pasta, so yummy!

Who is in your local squad?

My squad is very simple. They are not famous and they do not like attention.

Just know that I have the best, most loyal and fun squad there. Haha!

What was the last tune you downloaded?

Four tunes actually! Maradonna by Niniola, Pass the Agbara by Skuki, Fall For You by Bred and We Up by Dr Sid. These are my favourite dance tunes on replay.

What shoes are you wearing today and why?

USH exclusive shoes, Nigerian made. I love to support Nigerian brands because they are super talented and always bespoke. Nigerian designers are not smiling oh!

Where’s the party at?

Just go to downtown Toronto! There are loads of clubs and lounges for every and any one and I am not kidding.

What do you do for exercise around here?

I go to my buddie’s gym, he got me a guest pass and luckily, he is a trainer so he always pushes and motivates me even on the days I feel lazy. Anyway, we do the basics, ten minutes of cardio on steps and full body workout routines. It is fun and different. I always do my best to stay fit ever since I started working out.
Uti Nwachwuku is the famous Big Brother Africa Season Five winner, popular Nollywood actor and host we constantly see on our screens and if we’re lucky at the gym!  He spends a lot of time keeping fit, he spends a little time outside Nigeria, hanging with his Toronto crew and exploring some new spots.  While Toronto is certainly not Lagos, as it proves to be a bit too quiet for the on-screen personality, he talks about stepping outside our comfort zones as tourists as well as meeting new people in the process!
