Social media has been buzzing with talks about Glory Osei and her partner Muyiwa Folohunso the founders of Divergent Enterprise, a Lagos-based company. The duo has been the subject of criticism on social media for their alleged high-handedness against their former staffers.

Divergent Enterprise operates a number of businesses including Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory and Porkoyum.

Persons who said they were former staffers of Divergent claimed businesses were scam ventures.

Nigerian media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who in 2018 signed an ambassadorship deal has now come forward to speak on his relationship with the company.

At the time of signing his deal, he had expressed his excitement at the new prospect when he wrote:

“I’ve always been interested in farming and agriculture but never really knew where or how to get involved without fully leaving my day job. Which is why my new partnership with @porkmoney is very exciting to me!!! I can’t wait to share all of the great initiatives and products we have coming in the weeks and months ahead. I just hope you’ll come on this journey with me as we make money together and chop well.”

In his interview with Beat FM, when asked about his relationship with Pork Money, Ebuka said he signed as a brand ambassador and what that means is that he is just another employee of the company but wasn’t aware that there were other companies.

Reacting to the allegations that Pork Money is a Ponzi scheme, Ebuka said he was aware that everyone got back the money they invested in the projects he worked on.

He said he knew nothing about employee-employer relations at the company as he dealt with management directly.

But one of the founders of Divergent, Glory Osei said in an unsigned statement on Monday that the company never operated a Ponzi scheme.  In an unofficial statement she released on Medium, she reacted to the allegations of running a Ponzi scheme:

This is a ludicrous statement. Everything we have done from when we started till now is to maximize the resources at our disposal, making sure to not take more than what we need to achieve what needs to be done. It is pretty jarring that anyone would say this given just how fragile our ecosystem is. We are on schedule to paying all of our partners, and in fact, off the potential of all our other ventures would not be needing any more outside capital to finance our growth effort.”
