Popular gospel artiste and pastor, Bolaji Olarewaju, known as Big Bolaji, has passed away at the age of 50.

The family announced his death in a statement on Saturday, confirming that the singer died on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a brief illness.

According to the statement signed by the family, Big Bolaji was more than just a music minister, he was a loving father, husband, brother, and an ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

“His departure leaves a void in our hearts that cannot be filled,” the family wrote, describing his life as a reflection of unwavering faith, deep love for music, and the joy he spread to those around him.

Known for his energetic stage presence and signature praise sessions, Bolaji carved a space for himself in the gospel music scene with songs that uplifted and inspired worshippers across Nigeria and beyond.

His annual “Reverence” concerts drew large crowds and became a major platform for young gospel talents.

While his family mourns, they also expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received since the news broke. They asked for privacy as they prepare for his burial and promised to share more details in the coming days.
