Priscilla Ojo and Juma Jux’s relationship has become one of the most followed celebrity love stories across West and East Africa.

What started as a quiet connection between a Nigerian style influencer and a Tanzanian music star now stands as a cross-continental romance that has captured hearts online.

The couple, now officially Mr and Mrs Mkambala, have shared every stage of their journey from surprise proposals to an elegant traditional wedding in Lagos this April.

Here’s how their story unfolded:

Early 2024: Where it all started

Their paths first crossed in Rwanda, during a work trip.

According to Juma Jux, he met Priscilla under unexpected circumstances. He missed his flight, was upset, and saw her laughing as he walked past. Though annoyed at first, they later ended up in the same hotel, where Priscilla’s friend, Chioma, helped along a casual interaction.

Jux featured Priscilla in the music video for his single Maboss. Fans weren’t sure if it was just for the cameras until Priscilla posted a photo of the two in July, with the simple caption, “Mine.” It didn’t take long for the internet to put the pieces together.

August – September 2024: Meeting the family and engagement reveal

Jux flew into Nigeria to meet Priscilla’s mother, actress Iyabo Ojo. The visit was well-received and documented on social media.

In September, Iyabo confirmed her daughter’s engagement in a video from a pre-wedding shoot. Around the same time, Jux released Ololufe Mi. a romantic ballad with Diamond Platnumz that starred Priscilla in the video.

December 2024: Wedding talk begins

During a red carpet chat at the Seven Doors movie premiere, Iyabo Ojo revealed wedding plans set for April 2025.

She shared that there would be four ceremonies: two in Nigeria, one in Tanzania, and a final destination event.

She also disclosed that olive green and gold would be the official colours.

February 2025: Nikkah ceremony and second proposal

On February 8 and 9, the couple had their Islamic Nikkah in Tanzania, where Priscilla received the name Hadiza and adopted the Mkambala surname.

The event welcomed close friends and family, but also sparked online buzz due to the absence of her father.

Just days later, on February 12, Jux surprised her again, this time with a second proposal in Lagos, accompanied by an even larger diamond ring.

Friends, celebrities, and fans flooded social media with love for the pair, who confirmed their union in an Instagram post: “Before God, family, and in the Yoruba way.”

Their love story isn’t just a series of viral moments, it’s proof that love, when nurtured with intention, knows no borders.
