Ahmed Musa who won the Russian player for the month of March has dedicated the award to his teeming fans around the world saying that winning the Russian player of the month will spur him to do more.
Musa, who conceded the Super Eagles captainship position to Mikel Obi netted four times in five games in the league and cup. The 23-year-old forward was presented with the prestigious award on Saturday April 9 before CSKA’s 7 – 1 bashing of Mordovya, where he scored the fourth goal.
“I am happy to get this award, it’s an honour and it will spur me to do more for my team,” he said.
“The award is dedicated to my fans all over the world for their support and prayers; I will keep working hard and won’t disappoint them.”
After the initial failed bid during the January Transfer Window, surprise English Premier League leaders Leicester City have set aside £23million for Nigerian attacker Ahmed Musa in the European summer transfer, according to the Mirror (UK).
It would be recalled that Musa’s present club CSKA Moscow rejected a $21.6m (£15.1m) offer in which Leicester were poised to improve the fee up to the tune of $27m (£18.9m) valuation of the forward, with Manchester United also keen on landing the striker before the close of the transfer window, but to no avail.
