Rihanna Is Flawless in Sequins on the April ‘Vogue’ Cover

Rihanna is back with another Vogue cover for April, marking RiRi’s fourth appearance on the front of the fashion bible. (Her Vogue debut, also in April, came in 2011.) We learn that she has a design collaboration with Dior in the works. Rih went full Aphrodite for her April Vogue cover, emerging from the waters in a colorful sheer-and-sequined Tom Ford gown.

“I just liked it better without the lines underneath,” she said, on her choice to go braless at the awards. “Could you imagine the CFDA dress with a bra? I would slice my throat. I already wanted to, for wearing a thong that wasn’t bedazzled. That’s the only regret I have in life.”

She sticks to a sequined aesthetic throughout the accompanying Vogue U.S. editorial in a number of glittery looks by the likes of Givenchy, Ralph Lauren, and Saint Laurent.

Rihanna on the heels of a few big career moves, including the release of her new album “Anti,” her New York Fashion Week debut with Puma in February and the unveiling of her Manolo Blahnik collaboration. There’s also a scoop: she’s expected to release a line of sunglasses with Dior this season.

For one, Rihanna says she tried to take a break from music after her previous album Unapologetic, but that break “lasted a week.” She was back in the studio before she knew it, working on what would become ANTI two years later. When Beyonce’s “Formation” released during the same week, many people took it as a way to steal Rihanna’s thunder, but RiRi doesn’t see it that way. “They just get so excited to feed on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”
