This week, the drama with Davido came to a soulful end, Gucci became a married Mane, Rihanna took a step further in becoming immortalised and Mo Abudu made television history. These are the stories that made our week.

Davido free!

Davido

Davido has been declared free by the police. The If singer faced allegations that he had a hand in the death of his friend, Tagbo, when the latter was found dead after a drinking game at Shisha Bar, Lekki. It was believed that he instructed his driver and two friends to dispose of Tagbo’s body at a general hospital. To prove his innocence, Davido released CCTV footage and an official statement on social media. He later declared openly that he had forgiven all those who accused and spoke falsely of him. However, the question on everyone’s mind still lingers. Was he involved?

Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir’s lavish wedding

I guess we can now call him Gucci Married Mane. Too soon? No? Anyway, Gucci Mane is now a married man! The rapper tied the knot with Keyshia Ka’oir on Tuesday in an all-white ceremony so extravagant, it made social media buzz with how and why she stayed with him through the cheating times and his jail time. The wedding was attended by the likes of Rick Ross, Diddy, Monica Brown, Big Sean, Jhene Aiko, 2 Chainz, Lil Yachty, and a host of others. It was also broadcast live on BET, with hundreds of thousands of viewers watching from home. Spectacular!

Nigerians flood the 2017 MOBO Awards Nominations

Some brilliant artists of Nigerian descent were nominated for the 2017 MOBO Awards. Our very own star boy, Wizkid, got two nominations for the Best International Act and Best African Act categories. The other Nigerian nominees took seven of the 10 spots in the Best African Act category. Also on the list were Maleek Berry, Davido, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Tiwa Savage and Wande Coal. The winners will be announced during the show on November 29. You can check out the full list of nominees on the Guardian Life website.

Queen Rihanna Fenty shines again!

Rihanna

We are in love with Rihanna, no doubt about that and she is about to be immortalised in a major way. The Ministry of Tourism of Barbados has announced that Rihanna will have Westbury New Road, the street that she grew up on, named after her. It will be called Rihanna Drive. This was announced shortly after Riri released her Fenty Beauty Galaxy Collection, a limited holiday collection that is a glitter-drenched assortment of 13 products including an eyeshadow palette, shimmering lip balms, and liquid-to-glitter eyeliners. Shine on, Rih!

Mo Abudu stays winning!

Mo Abudu

First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate this amazing woman! Mosunmola “Mo” Abudu who was listed by Hollywood Reporter as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Global Television. This is her second time on the list and we must say that it is well deserved. Just think of all that EbonyLife TV has created since she founded it, with movie hits like Fifty (the movie and the series); the Moments show that is hosted in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa; and The Wedding Party that they co-produced. Well done, Mo sweetie. You’re doing amazing.
