The tongue is a double-edged sword and this week many fell on their words from Onochie, Buhari’s aide to Bonang Matheba. Sometimes it’s better to keep your own counsel. Here are the stories that made our week…

More love for Mocheddah

Mocheddah and BK

Mocheddah has taken a backseat in the music for some time now. Now we hear she’s engaged. Clearly, she was saving her best lyrics for her sweetheart, businessman Prince BK (Bukunyi Olagberi), son of Oba Olateru. What is it with showbiz girls and princes? Read more about Mocheddah’s life outside the recording studio in our cover story this month.

Trump shows North Korea pepper

Donald Trump

President Trump upped the verbal ante this week when he promised “-fire and fury like the world has never seen.” After North Korea threatened a physical retaliation for economic sanctions and showed increased nuclear readiness, Trump did not hold back but lashed the nation with dire threats of his own. The media immediately began speculating about nuclear war but his aides later played down his comments.

It’s not the quality but the Quantasia that counts

Quantasia

What do you get if you add quantum physics and quantum fantasy? Quantasia! People are not sure how to take the latest lawsuit against Usher “Herpes’ Raymond (as he will forever now be known). An American woman, Quantasia Sharpton, alleged she too was exposed to Usher’s herpes through sexual contact with the star, but her story has been hilariously cast into doubt after she was exposed for posting “I need some money” on her Facebook page, a week prior to the lawsuit. Usher has denied ever having sexual contact with her while the extent of her delusions is being exposed online by those who know her.

Buhari’s aide bashes health questions

Lauretta Onochie

President Buhari’s personal aide Lauretta Onochie launched an astonishing attack on what she called “intrusive and disrespectful” inquiries into the President’s health and predictably was immediately excoriated on social media. Buhari’s long and continued absences and refusal to clarify his health issues have been a controversial issue for some time, so her comments were widely mocked or met with outrage. Onochie was specifically criticising CNN’s coverage of Buhari’s health issues but she expanded her comments to include all those demanding answers as to the nature of the President’s health and sick leave.

Bonang Matheba’s book not a banger

Bonang: From A to B

She’s the South African sweetheart (ex-flame of D’Banj) with over a million followers but her much-anticipated book about her life Being Bonang, well, let’s just say it didn’t hit readers like it was intended. Despite the hype, horrid grammatical errors and accuracies were so numerous that the publishers, Exclusive Books have been forced to offer a refund to all customers. Being Bonang clearly, comes with a lot of wahala!
