Two senior officials of Oke-Ero Local Council in Kwara State, Alhaji Musibau Amuda, the Director of Personnel Management, and Mrs Omoladun Elizabeth Arinde, the Legal Officer, have been released after being kidnapped last Friday.
The officials were abducted while travelling from Iloffa in Oke-Ero Local Council to Ilorin, the state capital. Announcing their release in a statement yesterday, the council chairman, James Fadipe, confirmed that the officers had returned safely and were in good health.
Although he did not disclose the details of their rescue, Fadipe expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), security agencies, traditional rulers, and religious leaders for their contributions to securing the release of the officials.
