The governor gave the charge while welcoming the National Executives of the institute led by the President, Chief Samuel Deru who paid him a courtesy call in his office in Ibadan.
He stressed the need for ICAN to support his administration in its efforts at shoring up its internally generated revenue (IGR), given the sharp drop in the allocation accruing to the state from the Federation Account.
The governor said, “You will agree with me that Nigeria is currently facing serious economic challenges. This is the time we need your members to use their expertise to proffer solutions that will bail the country out of the economic crisis.
“There is nothing wrong if your institute moves round the states to have first-hand knowledge of their financial challenges. You can then come up with suggestions and probable solutions to assist in improving the country’s economy after a careful appraisal.
“More importantly, we need your support in our state in the area of IGR in terms of presenting propositions that will assist us in our internally generated revenue drive.”
