Ambode’s first anniversary wrestling tourney holds May 15
THE intercontinental wrestling tournament arranged to mark the first anniversary of Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode has now been fixed for between May 15 and 30th across 15 centres in the state.
Organiser of the events and President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Prince Olanrewaju Mohammed, said the competition would feature professional wrestlers across the globe, with arrangements to host the international stars already in place.
According to Mohammed, the first day of the championship is slated for Epe, the hometown of Ambode. “For the first time in Africa an intercontinental wrestling festival will hold in Lagos to showcase the tourism potentials and the hospitality of the good people of one of the emerging mega cities of the world.
“We are taking the wrestling championship across different areas in the state to let the people at the grassroots be part of the actions as we celebrate the good governance and service to the people of our dear governor in his first years in office,” he said.
