It’s turn of Ofokutu to produce Owa Aromolaran’s successor, says family
The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, at the weekend, installed Tunde Odulaja as the Lapo-Ekun of Ijebu Ode.
Agog with excitement and pageantry, the indigenes, residents and visitors watched with admiration as the highly revered monarch conferred the prestigious title of Lapo Ekun on Odulaja.
Oba Adetona, while admonishing the newly decorated high chief to be a good community leader and show exemplary leadership, reminded Odulaja of his responsibilities to the town and the people.
IN another development, the Ofokutu Royal Family of Ilesa, Osun State, has said that it is their turn to produce the next Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland.
The family stated that it is certain that the crown is coming to the Bilaro Ruling House, which comprises Ofokutu and Ajimoko royal families.
The spokesperson of the Ofokutu Royal Family, Olayide Adeyemi Adurodolorun, said that the Ajimoko Royal Family had produced Owa twice and a regent once, adding that a member of the Ofokutu Royal Family had only ascended the throne once.
Adurodolorun, during a media briefing in Ibadan, said the media chat was imperative to put the records straight, saying that some members of the Ajimoko Royal Family had been going around to lay claim to the stool.
