PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari yesterday canvassed the support of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the efforts by the Federal Government to rehabilitate the north eastern part of the country affected by Boko Haram insurgency.

Speaking at a meeting with the Secretary General of the OIC, Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, at the Makkah Guest Palace as part of the activities of his state visit to Saudi Arabia, the President urged the organisation to send a fact-finding mission to the ravaged states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa to see the damage done by terrorists.

The President in separate meeting with a delegation from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) led by its President, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, restated the commitment of his administration towards revamping and diversifying the nation’s economy.

Buhari told the OIC scribe that the fact-finding visit would help the body to determine the scope of assistance it can offer to Nigeria for the rehabilitation and resettlement of internally displaced persons.

He also challenged the OIC to act urgently in support of the restoration of peace, law and order to Libya.
