THE Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has called for the cooperation of Nigerians especially residents Borno State as the military seeks to end Boko Haram insurgency by the end of this year.

Buratai said Nigerians can help in the fight against insurgency by providing credible information on the “hideouts and modus operandi” of Boko Haram, noting that it would aid the military’s quest to end terrorists activities in the North East region of the country before the end of this year.

Buratai spoke yesterday morning in Maiduguri in a special Hausa and Kanuri programme of FM Radio Lafiya (Radio Peace) on how to ‘crush and end’ Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

He said in strict compliance with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that insurgency should be brought to an end by December, troops of the various Nigerian Army Divisions and the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the Lake Chad Basin were ready to fight the insurgents not only in Sambisa Forest, but would also pursue and chase them into their hideouts and cells, until peace reigns supreme in the North East region.
