Can you tell us about your role at Dyson?
My role as a business analyst at Dyson is both dynamic and collaborative. I work at the crossroads of business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that every project aligns with Dyson’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
A typical day begins with Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, where our team syncs on progress, resolves blockers, and sets priorities. I also participate in backlog refinement sessions, breaking down complex requirements into actionable user stories, and sprint planning, where we align our work with stakeholder objectives.
Throughout the day, I collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring they are translated into clear, actionable deliverables. Working closely with developers and testers during sprints, I help ensure seamless execution. Regular sprint reviews and retrospectives enable us to assess progress and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Dyson is known for its fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. How has working hybrid impacted your ability to deliver impactful projects?
Working hybrid, Dyson’s innovation hub, has been a transformative experience. Being immersed in the heart of Dyson’s operations has allowed me to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and product managers. This proximity fosters real-time collaboration and faster decision-making, which are critical in a dynamic environment like Dyson.
It has also given me the opportunity to participate in brainstorming sessions and workshops in person, enhancing creativity and problem-solving. Being surrounded by a culture of innovation inspires me daily to push boundaries and deliver solutions that make a tangible impact.
Can you share some of the key projects you’re excited to deliver this year?
Absolutely. This year is packed with exciting initiatives. Some of the key projects I have delivered include:
Google pay payment in checkout 18 markets: With an adoption rate of 30 per cent following the success of apple pay implementation to provide convenience to android users or Google accounts holder also enhancing fraud check by incorporating Riskified for authorisation.
Express Paypal payment: which increase conversion rate for paypal express payments and any other express payment options introduce in the future which eliminated drop off in checkout and enhanced user experience due to inefficiencies in the user journey and duplication of steps.
BNPP project for Spain and Italy markets: This was delivered in a short timeline and meet project goal despite BNPP is an entire new payment integration that Dyson uses. BNPP offers longer term instalment options.
Basket and Checkout exit intent pop up: Customers drop off in basket and checkout page for different reasons. The pop up displays the Reason to buy (RTBs) from Dyson: make sure customers are aware of the benefits of purchasing from Dyson, which had uplift of 29 per cent conversion rate in 18 DXP markets. Delivered enhancement of Billie B2B payment to other 16 markets of DXP for business customer which builds trust with Dyson business partners.
Troubleshooting Journey Reference Numbers: Streamlining the way reference numbers are managed to simplify and speed up issue resolution for customers.
3DS Authentication: Enhancing transaction security to build customer trust while ensuring a seamless experience.
Optimising Rithium Feed: Improving the delivery of relevant and engaging content for our users.
Accessibility Compliance Project: Ensuring Dyson’s platforms meet global accessibility standards, making them more inclusive for all users.
These projects reflect Dyson’s vision of combining technology and innovation to elevate customer experiences and drive business growth.
Beyond your work at Dyson, you’ve made notable contributions to the IT community. Can you elaborate on that?
Certainly. I’m passionate about sharing knowledge and giving back to the IT community. On LinkedIn, I regularly share insights on Business Analysis, Agile practices, and career development. These posts have consistently attracted over 1,800 impressions, which underscores their relevance to professionals in the field.
I’ve also been fortunate to receive recommendations from industry peers, which reflect the impact of my contributions. Sharing knowledge is not just about helping others—it strengthens the IT community as a whole, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
You’re also known for mentoring aspiring Business Analysts. What motivates you to take on that role?
Mentoring is incredibly fulfilling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding many aspiring Business Analysts, helping them develop essential skills like stakeholder management, requirement gathering, and Agile methodologies.
What drives me is seeing my mentees succeed—securing roles in leading organisations and making meaningful contributions. Their success stories inspire me to keep sharing my experiences and supporting others as they navigate their career paths in tech.
