The Kid Entrepreneurs Centre is organising a business fair to encourage entrepreneurship among children between ages five and 14 on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Lagos.

Holding from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Film House Imax Cinemas Grounds, Lekki Phase 1, the event is designed to exposure the kids to the concept of entrepreneurship at a tender age.

The centre, a pioneer entrepreneurial development platform for children in Nigeria, reiterated its passion to raise empowered teenagers, noting that the imparting of the knowledge would be effected through various media, including exhibition of books, kits among others, participation in entrepreneurial events as well as enrolment for related courses.

The organisers, in a statement, said: “Kid entrepreneurship is not about having kids focus all their time on business, rather, it is about helping them to develop requisite lifetime skills that cannot be taught in school, but which can be cultivated in the course of running their own micro businesses.

“Some of these skills include leadership, self-confidence, resilience, problem-solving, financial literacy, independence, networking, creativity, effective communication, generosity, goal-setting, among others.”

It continued: “This is the third edition and it promises to be an amazing event. In previous fairs, hundreds of kids showcased and sold their goods and services to thousands of customers. Past businesses included hand-made greeting cards, a massage booth, foods and drinks, fashion and accessories, locally made body products, among others.

“The kid vendors are encouraged to donate a percentage of profits to charities of their choices. The possibilities are limited only to what children can create.”

Interested participants for the programme, which is co-sponsored by The Guardian, MTN, Access Bank and many others, could visit www.kidentrepreneurs.com.ng for more information.
