Police nab photographer with human skull, fetish items

Operatives of Nigeria Police, yesterday, arrested a football coach, Bankole Oginni, in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for allegedly killing his 45-year-old ex-lover.
   
The Guardian gathered that the suspect purportedly lured the victim to his house at Oke-Aro axis of the state capital before committing the crime.Oginni, 45, was allegedly caught in the act when the deceased was traced to his house following her failure to return home on Saturday, when she paid him a visit.
  
According to the daughter of the deceased, she became worried when the phone number of her mother could not be reached after she did not return home.
The victim’s daughter, who craved anonymity, said when she decided to go to Oginni’s house to check on her mother. She was shocked upon sighting her lifeless body tied with rope in the suspect’s living room.
  
She also disclosed that her stomach had been ripped open, with patches on her body showing traces of hot water poured on her body, a situation that forced her to raise the alarm.
 
She added that a knife and sack were also found beside her mother’s remains. Confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson in the state, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the suspect was already in custody, while the remains of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary.
 
ALSO, a 26-year-old man, suspected to be a “Yahoo boy”, has been arrested with human parts in Ondo town, headquarters of the Ondo West Local Council of the state.
 
The suspect: Franklin Akinyosuyi, a photographer, who also runs a boutique, was said to have kept the human skull and bones in his apartment in the Elewuro area of the town.
  
According to sources, the items were discovered by the children of his landlord, who in turn informed their father, who alerted the police. The PPRO said: “One Franklin Akinyosuyi, male, 26, who claimed to be a photographer and owns a boutique in Ondo town, was challenged by his landlord for keeping a bag in a corner of the compound.
 
“The landlord became suspicious and asked the young man to open the bag; when he did, a human skull was found in the bag. After he was arrested, he claimed it was given to him by a native doctor in Osun State to enhance his business. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect is in custody.”
