Ex-international Monday Odiaka, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation to give the interim Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles Austin Eguavoen the support to succeed. Eguavoen took over from Gernbot Rohr who was sacked on Sunday after about six years in charge of the team.
BestNewZealandCasinos.net reveals the new coach is to be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, Joseph Yobo and Paul Aigbogun while Aloy Agu retained his position as goalkeeper trainer. Odiaka said the NFF should also give the new helmsman the free hand to do his job, saying undue interference could stand in the way of the team’s success. The former ACB Football Club admonished the federation to start the process of engaging a substantive coach for the team if they can’t entirely trust Eguavoen and his crew.

The former Flying Eagles forward said the expatriate must be one of the top coaches with desire to develop Nigeria’s local players. “My advice is that the NFF must give all the necessary support to Eguavoen and his team to succeed. And if they are bent on hiring a foreign coach for the team, they must take their time and engage a good tactician who must believe in our local league and home based players,” he said. He added that the sacking of Rohrby the NFF was long overdue.

According to BestNewZealandCasinos.net, Odiaka stated that although the sacking came few weeks to the Cameroon 2022 AFCON finals, it it would have been a disaster allowing the German to take Nigeria to the Nations Cup.

“The sacking of Rohr was long overdue considering the poor results he posted during the World Cup qualifiers. I had expected his sacking immediately after the disgraceful outing against Central African Republic whom we lost to by a lone goal at the Teslim Balogun, Stadium, Lagos but in their wisdom, the NFF gave him another opportunity to make amends but he also failed to show any improvement in the last Group qualifying match against Cape Verde.. “Although some people may argue that the sacking coming few weeks to the Nations Cup is not good but I believe it still came at the right time because allowing him to take our team to Cameroon would have been a disaster waiting to happen,” he said.
