‘Creative industry to create 2.7m jobs by 2025’

Jobberman and Mastercard Foundation have reported that Nigeria’s creative industry as one of the country’s fastest-growing economic sectors.

It is currently the second-largest employer of labour, engaging approximately 4.2 million people and projected to create an additional 2.7 million jobs by the end of 2025.

Recognising this immense potential, The Assembly designed the Creative Class: Regeneration Edition to equip emerging entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, networks, and funding to drive innovation and sustainability in the sector.

This vision has come to life as the Creative Class: Regen Edition, powered by The Assembly, culminates in an inspiring finale showcase on March 21, 2025, in Lagos.

The event brought together industry leaders, investors, creative entrepreneurs, and ecosystem partners to witness the next generation of regenerative businesses in the creative space.

The finale showcase featured a live exhibition, where participants showcased their projects, products, and creative ventures. A select number of participants also presented their enterprises live at the event, offering them the chance to present their work to potential investors, partners, and media representatives.

The showcase also recognised and rewarded innovation, with participants having the opportunity to secure a share of the collective grant fund. The fund was allocated to businesses demonstrating a strong commitment to regenerative principles, innovative solutions, and collaborative approaches.

Creative Director of Renikeji, Oluwakemi Agbato, reflected on her experience: “The programme has been transformative, providing invaluable insights on enhancing Renikeji’s sustainability. I sought to create an ethical supply chain for Nigerian gems, and through this journey, I’ve gained the confidence to ask crucial questions and develop a framework that can positively impact Nigeria’s precious minerals industry. Being part of this diverse cohort has been incredibly inspiring.”
