DPR seals petrol stations in Benue for hoarding fuel

Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) yesterday sealed five petrol stations in Makurdi, the Benue State, for hoarding and selling products above the government-approved price.

Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) yesterday sealed five petrol stations in Makurdi, the Benue State, for hoarding and selling products above the government-approved price.

The affected filling stations include: Prime Power Filling station along Ankpa Ward, Bolec station on Modern Market road, P. Kula close to High-Level Market, Kyabis filling station and Jenny Investment located along Modern Market road.

While prime power, Bolec and P. Kula filling stations were sealed for hoarding products and not complying with the approved price of N86.50, Kyabis and Jenny Investment were sealed for selling product at N140 per liter after the DPR team left their stations.

Also, at Prime Power station, the pump attendants on sighting the DPR team, shut down the station and ran away. The officials discovered over 11,000 liters in the station’s underground tank after they had claimed not to have fuel.
