Easter: Group urges Nigerians to show love, compassion to one another

As Christians around the world mark Easter, a season symbolizing the triumph of hope, love, and renewal, on Sunday, the Founder of the
Motivating African Youths Initiative (MAY-I), Dr. Ogenna Walter Ekwubiri, has called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of selfless service and purpose-driven living.

The foundation also urged Nigerians to go beyond festivities this Easter by embodying the values of compassion and leadership in their daily lives.

In a heartfelt Easter message, Dr. Ekwubiri reflected on the significance of the season, describing it not merely as a time of celebration but as a powerful reminder and call to action.

“Easter is not just a season, it is a call. A call to rise above fear, to extend love even when it is inconvenient, and to believe in the beauty of new possibilities. In a world still healing, still hungry for compassion and justice, we are all called to be light bearers and hope bringers.

“At Motivating African Youths Initiative (MAY-I), we believe that every act of kindness, no matter how small, is a seed for transformation. We have seen the strength of widows rising, the courage of young people daring to dream, and the power of communities coming together to care.

“This Easter, I invite you to go beyond the celebration—choose to be the miracle someone else is praying for. Lift someone. Feed someone. Believe in someone. Lead with love and walk with purpose.

“From all of us at MAY-I, we wish you a blessed and joyful Easter. May it ignite in you the courage to live fully, serve selflessly, and lead boldly.”
