THE traditional ruler of Auchi, Edo state, Alhaji Aliru Momoh Ikelebe III, has urged governments at all levels to churn out people-based programmes and policies to enable Nigeria realise her potentials.

He stated this yesterday in Sabongida-ora, Owan West Local Council Area, during the 2015 summit of Owan Animal Hunters Association. He also urged Nigerians to remain united irrespective of recent events, which, he said, were deliberately designed by some “evil and criminally minded” elements to divide the country along ethnic and religious lines.

He called on Nigerians to continue to be united and be their brother’s keeper, noting that attempts by extremists and religious deviants to use Islam as a foundation to justify wanton destruction of lives and properties, as well as, create atmosphere of religious intolerance, insecurity and violence, is not justified by any of the holy books of Islam.

“The so-called Boko Haram sect does not, in words, actions or doctrine, respect Islam” He said, adding that Islam forbids taking the life of the innocent.
