THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at the weekend, arraigned the Provost of the Federal School of Medical Laboratory Science, Jos; Dr. Nkereuwe Sunday Etukudoh, and four others before a Jos High Court.

They were charged for corruption and embezzlement of public funds.
However when the case was mentioned in court presided over by Mr. Justice Yakubu Dakwak, the charges were not read because one of the accused persons, Mr. Ernest Demtoe, was absent due to ill – health.

The cause title read: “FRN vs Dr. N. Sunday Etukudoh and four others, suit number PLDJ/36 C/2015 charged with corruption and embezzlement of public funds in their care as office holders of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN).”

Counsel to the other three accused persons that were present in court, Bassey E. Okon, told The Guardian that court proceeding was meant to move a motion, adding that that was not possible because the four accused persons were not complete in court, a reason he said necessitated the adjournment. Based on the motion for adjournment by the defense, Justice Dakwak, adjourned the matter to May 2, for continuation of hearing.
