The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State and former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi; Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; his Ekiti counterpart, Biodun Oyebanji; and Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, have extended warm greetings to Muslims as they celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In a statement by Head of his Media Office, Ahmad Sajoh, Fayemi said the event should serve as a reminder to Nigerians about our shared humanity and “inspire us to work towards a more just, equitable, and prosperous nation for all.”

Aiyedatiwa, in his Eid-el-Fitr message to the Muslim faithful, promised to continue to provide a conducive environment for religious harmony in the state.

The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, congratulated Muslims for successfully completing the holy month of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, reflection, and service to the community.

Oyebanji and Abiodun congratulated the Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

The Ekiti State governor, in his goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, admonished Muslims to put the teachings of the Holy month to good use in all their undertakings, urging them and adherents of other religions to continue to live in love, peace, and harmony with one another as brothers and sisters.

Abiodun, while felicitating with the Muslim faithful on the conclusion of this year’s Ramadan, said that the period had enriched the country spiritually.

He commended the Muslim faithful for committing the country into the hands of Almighty Allah (SWT) in prayers and supplications.

Also, the senator representing Ogun West District, Solomon Adeola, congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful conclusion of the religious exercise.

He urged Muslims and other Nigerians to continue to pray against the insecurity bedeviling the nation and for the wisdom for leaders to find lasting solutions to the killings.

In the same vein, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) during the 2023 election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has extended his heartfelt greetings to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar-led Muslim Ummah of Nigeria, as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

In a message addressed to the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his best wishes to the entire Muslim community across the nation.

Rhodes-Vivour acknowledged the significance of Ramadan as a period of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion, commending the commitment of the faithful to fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.

He emphasised that these virtues are crucial not only for personal growth but also for strengthening national unity and harmony, especially during challenging times.
