Former governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, has told the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, to channel his energy towards the welfare of Nigerians by providing good roads, rather than basking in the euphoria of political accolades.

The former Governor stated this during a civic reception organised for the minister by the Okposi Okwu community within the Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, to celebrate his achievements during his tenure as governor.

As the attendees applauded the former Governor’s contributions to the state, Elechi’s remarks served as a sobering reminder of the complexities and often treacherous nature of politics.

While acknowledging the positive intentions of some, Elechi pointed to historical precedents where blind trust in political allies resulted in disappointment or betrayal.
