A corporate governance expert, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), is set to unveil a practical corporate governance model at his upcoming public lecture scheduled for March 20, 2025, at the Lagos Business School.

The lecture, titled: “Balancing Power, Profit and Purpose,” will introduce a new governance equation and framework developed through 25 years of research, teaching, and practical experience in corporate governance, law, and sustainability.

It aims at reimagining governance with a focus on ethics, purpose, and outcomes for a sustainable future.

Ajogwu, while speaking on the upcoming lecture, said: “Governance is not just about rules; it is about ethics, purpose, and outcomes. The AFG model is designed to help organisations and societies rethink governance in a way that balances business objectives with ethical and sustainable impact. Companies can no longer view corporate governance merely as a compliance requirement but as an essential component of their businesses. Therefore, the new model advocates a shift from a box-ticking approach to governance towards a more integrated and forward-thinking system.”

In addition to the lecture, the event will feature an interactive session with industry leaders, policymakers, and academics, followed by the unveiling of Ajogwu’s latest book, “Reflections on Corporate Governance,” which delves into the evolution of governance practices and offers insights on addressing modern governance challenges.
