The paramount ruler of the Igbo community in the Republic of Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, has joined the good people of Anambra State and ndi Igbo in the diaspora to eulogise the remarkable 84th birthday celebration of the Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, describing him as a distinguished royal father with uncommon wisdom.
The monarch in a statement by his Country Director on Media Strategy and Communications, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, said: “Agbogidi of Igboland, my dear royal father, I feel so elated as I, on behalf of my lovely family, chiefs, elders, members of the Obigbo royal palace, and the entire Igbo community in Ghana, roll the drums to celebrate your 84th birthday and 23rd anniversary on the throne of your forefathers.
“As a highly respected royal father, you have always demonstrated rare leadership in handling both community-related and national affairs with a knack to combine the imperatives of the monarchy with abiding faith in democratic values, which is so evidence in your public conduct and utterances.
“Just like myself, millions of ndi Igbo around the world celebrate these rare leadership virtues that have distinguished you from others, undoubtedly making you a beacon of hope and inspiration to traditional institution and a source of inspiration to all.
“We celebrate today, tomorrow, and always our iconoclastic royal father of all times. Happy birthday, Agbogidi of Igboland.”
