The Development Control Unit of Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja demolished structures in Emperor Palm Jumeira Estate Phase 3 belonging to Almubee Group.

The structures, located at Wuye District of Abuja was brought down by bulldozers.

A statement signed by the coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Umar Shuaibu, said the structures were demolished because the developers were building without following the approved design for the said land.

It added that the purpose of the demolition was to serve as a warning for other developers that the approved designs must be followed without modification.

Mr Shuaibu said the demolition came after the Council failed to reach an amicable agreement with the developers of Emperor Palm Jumeira estate in Wuye.

He said the firm failed to “voluntarily remove the structures and build according to what they got approval for”

“It is important to let the public know that this removal was not intended to inflict any pain on the owners of the property but rather to enable other citizens know that things must be done properly”

He further stated that the developers of Emperor Palm Jumeira Estate are already intalks with the Development Control unit for modification of the already approved design before moving to site soon.

Recently, Development Control also demolished over 300 structures in densely populated Bassa-Jiwa Community near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
