FG trains youths on 3MTT initiative in Niger
The Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, in collaboration with I.H.Towers, has trained 1,680 youths in Niger State under the 3MTT Project.
The 3MTT Community Manager, Taoheed Abdulraheem, shared this update during the Cohort 2 Fellows Impact Summit held at the NUT Teachers House in Minna over the weekend. He explained that the 3MTT initiative aims to train three million Nigerians and prepare them for global competition, noting that it is the world’s largest planet accelerator.
Abdulraheem said that the summit reflects the vision of the Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijjani, and aligns with the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated that the goal is to position Nigeria as a net exporter of technical talent, with young Nigerians at the heart of the vision.
He revealed that Niger State had applied for learning clusters and was selected to participate in advanced training, which allowed fellows to engage with cutting-edge technologies.

The 1,680 Cohort 2 fellows participated in a three-month programme from August to December 2024, covering 12 courses such as Digital Visualization, Software Engineering, Software Development, and Product Management.
Abdulraheem stressed that fellows were tasked with creating solutions to societal issues such as security, hunger, clean water, and healthcare, based on their training. He described the 3MTT community as more than a group of learners, but a dynamic ecosystem of individuals passionate about technology and innovation.
The Commissioner for Communications Technology and Digital Economy in Niger State, Suleiman Isah, noted that the state has aligned with the Federal Government’s Digital Economy Initiative under Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago’s administration.
Represented by Senior Special Assistant Bello Aminu, Isah encouraged the participants to use the platform to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and connect with mentors.
The summit participants were divided into four teams: Sprinary, Peritie Innovators, Future Foundry, and Dynamic Minds. At the end of the summit, Dynamic Minds emerged as the winner, receiving a N500,000 reward.
