The highly anticipated clash between Nigeria’s Flying Eagles and Morocco in the CAF U20 Cup of Nations on Sunday ended in a goalless draw, leaving much to be desired from both teams. Played in Cairo, the match lacked the flair many had expected, with the only significant chance coming from Divine Oliseh’s first-half effort for Nigeria, which was unable to break the deadlock.
The result left both teams with four points in Group B, though Morocco, with a superior goal difference, tops the group after defeating Kenya 3-2 in a thrilling encounter earlier in the week. Nigeria, currently in second place, will now face Kenya’s Rising Stars in a crucial match on Wednesday, knowing that a win is essential to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Kenya, still without a point, will attempt to salvage their tournament hopes against Nigeria, while Morocco will take on Tunisia, who bounced back from their 0-1 loss to Nigeria with a 3-1 win over Kenya on Sunday. Tunisia now sits in third place with three points, while Kenya remains at the bottom.
The competition continues to build as teams vie for top spots, with the final matches in Group B set to determine which teams will progress to the knockout stages.
