The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has a new Sector Commander, Corps Commander Francis Ajatta.
Ajatta from Lagos State took over from Edward Odiete, who got promoted and posted to a higher capacity.
Paul James, the Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom command of the FRSC, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo, the state capital, on Thursday.
He stated that the appointment is aimed at strengthening the system to enhance performance and efficiency in Road Traffic Management and Safety Administration in Nigeria.
James said, “Following the promotion and subsequent posting of the former Sector Commander, Edward Odiete, a new Sector Commander has been appointed for Akwa Ibom State.
“He is Corps Commander Francis Ajatta, who hails from Lagos State. He is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt and holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Benin.
“He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.”
James said that Odiete, in his farewell address, thanked the state government, major stakeholders, and the people of Akwa Ibom for the cooperation and support he enjoyed during his stay in the state.
He added that the former sector commander had enjoined all to extend the same support and cooperation to his successor, so that the state could be served better.
