THE Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola has disclosed plans by the Federal Government to refund states that had rehabilitated roads designated as ‘Federal Roads.’

Fashola said the Federal Government had already commenced verification of federal roads constructed by the Kwara State Government for reimbursement, assuring that the Federal Government would also reimburse other states of the federation once their claims were verified.

The minister, during a courtesy call on Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State yesterday said an Inter-Ministerial committee had been put in place by President Muhammadu Buhari to verify claims on money spent on federal roads by the various states’ governments.

He said the Federal Government has identified Jebba – Ilorin road as one of the most strategic for economic reasons in Nigeria that require urgent attention especially in the areas of rehabilitation.
