Labour Party (LP) members in Kaduna have condemned the gruesome killing of the party’s Women Leader in Southern Kaduna, Mrs. Victoria Chimrex. Gunmen reportedly broke into her home in Manchok, Kaura Local Council, and shot her several times.

Southern Kaduna (Zone 3) chapter of LP, while condemning the assassination, demanded thorough investigation of yesterday’s tragedy.
According to a statement by Zone 3 Chairman of LP, Tanimu Gora, the woman’s husband, who was brutality shot in the leg, is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

He stated: “The killers did not take any valuable in the house, suggesting assassination as the only mission of the wicked actors.

“Chimtex was known for her ability to relate well with people, an endowment she used in bringing hundreds of resourceful new entrants into LP in Kaura. She was known for her relentless campaign for the Obi-dient cause and she made a lot of converts. It saddens our hearts that such an industrious, hard working and dedicated women leader was killed when LP families from the local council, zone and the state needed her the most, at this critical times that Nigerians are in quest for a new Nigeria through LP.”

Gora stressed that the killing of Chimtex would remain sad in the hearts of LP faithful forever. He added: “But it shall not break our spirit or intimidate us from pursuing the election of the LP into all elective offices in 2023, because we truly believe that a new Nigeria is possible under Peter Obi as President of Nigeria.

The deceased, The Guardian gathered, had six biological and three adopted children under her care.
CONDEMNING the gruesome murder, LP governorship flagbearer in Kaduna, Jonathan Asake, has called for probe of the incident.

“I condemn, in strong terms, the gruesome murder of LP women leader in Kaura.”

This is a clear case of assassination and I charge the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in unravelling the masterminds,” the immediate past president of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) said.
