Group urges end to insecurity, tasks youths on peace

International Federation of Female Ministers Groups and Organisations (IFFMGO)

The International Federation of Female Ministers Groups and Organisations (IFFMGO) has sued for an end to prevailing insecurity in Nigeria.

During a summit and press briefing, at the weekend, in Lagos, President, Mothers of the Nation and founder of the organisation, Bishop Priscilla Otuya, who spoke on the theme, ‘Stop The Satanic Propaganda Against Nigeria’, advised youths to shun violence, explaining that this is not the way to end bad governance in the country.

She said: “This Satanic propaganda being perpetrated by some people is the only reason Nigeria is where it is 61 years after independence.

“Nigerians have been so dehumanised that we now live by fate rather than by faith, and this is not acceptable.” Otuya urged religious bodies be unanimous on how to be governed. She stressed the need for everyone, especially women, to fully participate in politics.

The founder, therefore, implored Nigerians to shun bribery and corruption in the forthcoming presidential election for better leadership.

National Coordinator and Patron of IFFMGO, Archbishop Glory Chy Abugh, said the church has a big role to play in the affairs of the country.

“In every system, there must be orderliness and a place of preference. As Christians, we strongly believe that the church has an important role to play in politics, the economy, and the legislature. One of the weapons the church is supposed to use to control the affairs is prayer. Through prayer, we can produce good leadership. If the church fails, then every system will fail,” she added.
